Spaghetti Works
About This Spot
Stepping into Spaghetti Works feels like returning to a warm neighborhood gathering spot where familiar smells and friendly faces greet you with ease. Located just a few blocks from downtown Omaha, this Italian restaurant exudes a casual, unhurried charm that invites you to settle in and savor good company alongside hearty, home-style flavors.
The atmosphere here hums at a comfortable, steady pace—whether you're tucked into one of the classic booths, enjoying the sunlight on the patio, or gathering around the lively salad bar. It’s the kind of place where the rhythm of conversation threads through the clink of glasses and soft laughter, making it clear that dining here is as much about sharing moments as it is about the food itself.
Spaghetti Works pays homage to familiar Italian favorites without fuss, emphasizing generous portions alongside thoughtful touches. The ever-popular salad bar feels like an extension of the kitchen’s care—fresh, abundant, and a vibrant companion to the star of the meal: plentiful plates of spaghetti and classics like eggplant parmesan or grilled chicken Alfredo. Among the comfort of garlic bread included with every meal and the option of unlimited pasta refills, the experience leans into a relaxed enjoyment that keeps both families and longtime locals coming back.
This is a spot where the unpretentious nature of “build your own pasta” or the simple joy of a meatball sandwich feels special because of the welcoming vibe and the ease of sharing. Even the kid’s menu carries a sense of thoughtfulness, with gluten-free options quietly reminding you that everyone’s needs have been considered in the background.
More than just a meal, Spaghetti Works invites you to slow down, indulge in the familiar, and linger a little longer—whether you’re unwinding after a busy day or making new family memories. It’s an old-school Italian embrace in the heart of Omaha, where every visit feels like a bit of home.

So impressed by this Italian restaurant! This is our first visit to Omaha and it will be on our list of must-visit restaurants in Omaha when we come back!! The food was excellent and the outdoor patio seating was very cool. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the fact that the salad bar and garlic bread are included! The pb&j kids pizza was a hit as well.

Always amazing food. I was impressed with the clean free pasta option. They were rice noodles. We went on Sat around noon, it was very busy but no wait. Clean, friendly, quick service!

Had a great dinner here. The appetizers were amazing and the salad bar had a pretty good selection. Both dinners had such great flavors, red sauce for lasagna was sweet and fresh. White sauce on mushroom bake was creamy an delicious.

My family loved the charm, friendliness and value of this old school Italian restaurant. Portions are just the right size so you don't feel too full, and the salad bar is fresh and well-maintained. Free refills on yummy pasta, salad bar and Italian sodas - we wanted to stay for hours! Ice cream sundae for $3.99 perfect sweet treat if you saved room. Our server was friendly and attentive. Booths generously sizes for family of 4. The decor is full of great details, like the moose on the wall, belt-driven ceiling fans and farm truck salad bars. Feels old and authentic without being kitschy or dusty. Easy paid parking in front and across the street, and a great historic neighborhood to walk around while you digest your meal. We'll come back every time we're passing through Omaha!

Spaghetti Works – Omaha (Dinner Review) I tried the house lasagna with red sauce. I’d rate it about a 3.4/5. The sausage had good flavor with just a touch of heat. The pasta was cooked through (not chewy, thankfully), but the cheese was underwhelming—just one layer on top and no ricotta inside, which left it feeling incomplete. Appetizers: The fried clams were the surprise winner of the night—crispy, seasoned well, and satisfying. A solid 4.5/5. Salad bar: Plenty of choices, fresh enough, and I even noticed the ground pepper had some bite to it. I’d give it a 3.8/5. Dessert: The tiramisu looked fantastic at first, but it didn’t deliver. Only two thin cake layers buried under a thick inch and a half of cream. Not terrible, just not memorable. Drinks & Service: My server kicked things off with a delicious raspberry sweet tea, but the refill came back as regular tea—small detail, but it stood out. Service overall was friendly and steady, though. Atmosphere: The Old Market setting is what really makes Spaghetti Works shine. It’s got charm, history, and a good crowd—exactly the kind of place that feels like an Omaha staple. Overall: Worth visiting for the atmosphere, salad bar, and clams. The pasta has potential but doesn’t quite deliver consistently.

Now just to be clear this is not necessarily a high-end Italian restaurant, but the experience is worth every bit. It takes you back to great Italian food and the good old salad bar. It deserves the ratings that I gave it because everything was spot on for the price looks like this would be great for family. Plenty of unique things to see around you for this old building. And easily vegan friendly.

We are an elderly couple in town for a mini-getaway and chose Old Spaghetti Works for dinner at the end of a busy Friday. We got seated right away in a cozy enclosed booth, perfect for our date night! Had spaghetti with meat sauce, loved the salad bar, and endulged in a dessert called Upside Down French Silk Pie, which came alongside 2 scoops of ice cream with caramel sauce which was delicious (or, "Bussin'" as the kids say). Our server, Peter, was very attentive and took great care of us. He even took our picture. Highly recommend for any kind of gathering.

Took my son here because I used to eat here when I was young and lived in the area. It’s still a fun place to eat with a unique atmosphere and all you can eat pasta. We even got lucky and showed up on a Monday when kids 11 and under eat free!! So glad we went!
